Cholita Doll

This a collector's doll made by the artisans of Artesania Sorata created this doll to depict their daily lives. The doll is a cholita, an indigenous woman. She is carrying her baby in an awayu, or traditional fabric used to carry not only babies but also other objects as well. Artesania Sorata is a group of artisans who have been working for more than 30 years. They are not only fairtrade certified, meaning that they provide a fair wage and dignified employment to the artisans, but actually participated in creating the fairtrade concept.
